3 Month update (late)

Not sure that people are following this blog just dying for updates, but I am late.  I took my pictures on time I just didn't have time to throw them into a collage so you can see the transition.  Sorry.  :)

I think I am finally at the place that I would say yes, all the struggles and tears were worth it.  I am a LONG WAY from where I want to be, but I have come so far already!!  I had an appointment with my PCP on Monday (August 2nd) and I am down 50 pounds since my visit with them in March.  My AC1 is down to 5.9, which means I am no longer diabetic (still in the prediabetic range) and my blood pressure was great.  I would like to give you more stats but I just tried logging in to the patient portal and got an error.  I guess it's not meant to be.  Next time!

I've transitioned from feeling pissed or upset when I can't eat what I want or pig out like I used to, to feeling like "nope eating that french fry isn't worth the pain it causes."  So my mindset has changed and that is HUGE on this journey.  I still have a long way to go and I NEED TO start adding exercise in.  Thus far the progress made has really just been based on the restricted calories.  Now my skin it loose and I the fat doesn't melt away evenly.  So now it's time to start toning.  I've been told it will help with my stress level too.  Since we are entering my busiest time of year and my 9-5 and with my photography business, I can use all the stress relief I can get.

The goal my surgeon set for my appointment at the end of August is 225.  When I was at the doctor this week I was 235, so now I need to WORK to lose another 10 pounds in the next 2 weeks or so.  Wish me luck!!

If you decide to go this route, TAKE PICTURES.  Sometimes I get discouraged when I've "only lost 9 pounds this month" and then I see last months pictures and I think, that 9 pounds was a big deal.  I still haven't changed pants sizes although there are pants I can fit into that I couldn't before, and my bigger pants don't fit anymore, I haven't "officially" gone down a pants size yet.

So monthly photo progression.

  1. You're doing GREAT! You look wonderful. I can understand that looking back helps alot when you're on a journey such as losing weight.

I've been watching what I've been eating, keeping track of calories and increasing my water intake. It will be a much slower process but I don't think I could ever afford the surgery route.

I would like to keep up on your journey as part of your support. I'm so proud of you girl!!
